Shamya Carter
Shamya Carter is a grounded actress driven by emotional truth and fearless storytelling. She gravitates toward complex roles that explore intensity, vulnerability, and intimacy, bringing both discipline and instinct to her work. Influenced by classical structure as well as modern theatrical experimentation, Shamya approaches each role with careful control and a strong connection to character. Her training includes Suzuki, Commedia dell’Arte, dance, and improvisation, which inform her dynamic stage presence. Recent credits include Jane in The Heidi Chronicles and Pecola in The Bluest Eye. Following graduation, Shamya plans to pursue professional opportunities in theatre, film, and television both in Louisiana and beyond.
