LSU researchers have been awarded a $1.5 million Pathways to Enable Open-Source Ecosystems, or POSE, grant from the National Science Foundation to advance the ecosystem surrounding HPX, a software library developed at LSU. Their goal is a fast and energy-efficient solution to increase worldwide access to high-performance computing. Lack of access and performance currently limits the success and usefulness of emerging technologies, such as AI and machine learning, and computational modeling in almost every field.
The LSU Division of Computer Science & Engineering recently presented Alaina Metz Smith with the 2025 Hall of Distinction Bengal Impact Award in recognition of her outstanding service, professional guidance, and unwavering commitment to supporting LSU and its students.
LSU Electrical & Computer Engineering Associate Professor Xiangwei Zhou recently had his paper, titled "DualGFL: Federated Learning with a Dual-Level Coalition-Auction Game," accepted into the 2025 AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, an annual event that brings together researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders to share cutting-edge advancements in AI.
