Chapter SymbolPhi Kappa Theta has a rich history dating all the way back to 1889 with Phi Kappa and in 1919 with Theta Kappa Phi. Our fraternity is the only true mutual marriage of two national social fraternities. The two fraternities officially merged on April 29, 1959 at The Ohio State University to become the Unified Fraternity of Phi Kappa Theta. Prominent alumni of our fraternity include President John F. Kennedy, Bob Hope, Gene Kelley, Paul Allen and Vince Dooley. The Louisiana XI Chapter was founded April 14, 1938 as the XI chapter of Theta Kappa Phi, starting a long relationship with the LSU Greek System as a leader on campus in the areas of brotherhood, campus involvement and scholarship. Upon the 1959 merger, our chapter became the Louisiana Xi Chapter at LSU that we are proud of today. Phi Kap has an active social calendar and philanthropy calendar. We actively volunteer at the Baton Rouge Food Pantry, hosted a car wash fundraiser for LSU Girl Rides, participated in Song Fest and LSU Homecoming. Phi Kappa Theta is actively involved in preparing men for LSU and the world by providing networking and resume building sessions among other things to build you into the best version of yourself. LSU Phi Kap has been awarded with the bronze excellence award which is awarded to the top 10% of all Phi Kappa Theta chapters nationally.
