In the heart of Cajun Country, where the seafood industry is a cornerstone of the local economy, the LSU AgCenter and Louisiana Sea Grant Seafood Processing Demonstration Lab is making waves. This innovative facility is not only advancing the state's seafood industry but also providing invaluable support to small businesses and independent fishermen.
Students with special needs were the stars of the rodeo held during the LSU AgCenter Southwest District Livestock Show. Everyone who came went away with memories they will cherish according to LSU AgCenter reporter Craig Gautreaux.
Around the country, firefly populations have reached historically low numbers. At one time, they lit up the night with their blinking mating calls. Today, these luminescent insects are quietly disappearing, as their habitats and food supply have been greatly impacted.
A butterfly flitted across rows of container plants while the sounds of children playing in the distance mixed with birdsong. Tim Ellzey and Will Afton walked among the plants, checking on strawberries, broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage.
