This opportunity fosters academic self-confidence while providing an introductory exposure to the high demands and challenges of undergraduate curriculum.

Choice Credit-Modality Rundown

The Choice credit-modality offers students the opportunity to participate in an authentic college-level course and complete a high-school diploma concurrently. Specifically, the Choice credit-model benefits students who quality for the Traditional credit-modality, but may need additional resources to be successful. Choice credit-modality courses are delivered asynchronously with the presence of a teacher (classroom coach), selected by the school and trained by our LSU Instructor of Record. At the end of the course, LSU will provide each student with a letter grade to have transcribed or forgo.

Students must meet the Board of Regents’ Minimum Requirements for Academic Dual Enrollment Courses.

The cost for each School/District is $100 per credit hour per course plus any required books/technology.

At the end of the course, LSU will provide each student with a letter grade to have transcribed or forgo. If the student opts to forgo LSU grade, no permanent record of the attempt will exist within their academic record, thus eliminating all risk.

LSU provides free mandatory training for all teachers (classroom coaches) selected by the school.

Classroom coaches are trained by our LSU Instructor of Record to deliver content and provide individualized instruction to create engaging learning experiences and effectively guide students during the duration of the Choice credit-modality course.

LSU will supply an Instructor of Record (IOR) along with a fully asynchronous, stand-alone LSU Choice credit-modality course, encompassing assignments, assessments, instructional videos, and notes.

Each participating high school assigns a trained teacher (classroom coach) to aid student registration, offer coursework guidance, and maintain ongoing communication with LSU’s Instructor of Record for student success.

Students receive a quality educational experience within their regular high school course structure that matches the pace and rigor (i.e. same homework, assesments, ect.) of courses offered at LSU.

No permanent record of LSU Choice credit-modality course outcomes will be maintained unless a student explicitly chooses grade transcription after receiving the collegiate final grade.

LSU Instructor of Record will provide coaching for your teacher (classroom coach) if they are struggling with the application of Choice credit-modality curriculum within the classroom.
