Visit Mike the Tiger

Location of Tiger Habitat

Mike the Tiger is the only live tiger living on a college campus in the U.S. The Tiger Habitat is located on North Stadium Drive in Baton Rouge; the habitat sits between the Bernie Moore Track Stadium and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and is across the street from Tiger Stadium. There is no fee to see Mike the Tiger.

Parking

There is visitor parking (including handicapped spaces) located on North Stadium Drive and adjacent to Tiger Stadium.

Hours

Mike is outside usually every day between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. (though times may vary), including weekends and holidays. Yard work is scheduled for Thursday mornings, so Mike remains inside until that is done. When Mike is kept inside for yard work, maintenance, or some other reason, it is posted on Mike's social media platforms (facebook.com/mikethetiger, @mikethetiger on X, instagram.com/mikethetiger_lsu).

Groups

If you're visiting Mike as part of a group that is coming to campus by bus, your group can disembark from the bus in front of the Sports Shop next to the Tiger Habitat. You can request access to park the bus in a lot on the main part of campus, or you can park the bus in the gravel lot across the street from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine on the corner of Skip Bertman Drive and River Road, and then pick up the group in front of the Sports Shop when they're ready to go.
